Honeymooning in Fuerteventura Canary Islands

My partner and I recently returned from a slightly delayed honeymoon, where we embarked on an amazing adventure to Spain, and I wanted to share our experience

Fuerteventura: A Volcanic Paradise

We started our journey in Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands known for its volcanic landscapes. Even though we visited in March, the weather was warm and perfect for relaxation. Just a heads up—bring a jacket for the chilly evenings!

Southern Spain Tour: Exploring Hidden Gems

Our next adventure took us on a tour of Southern Spain, visiting both popular cities and hidden gems. Our itinerary included Seville, Málaga, Frigiliana, Nerja, Almuñécar, Granada, and finally Madrid. Here’s a quick rundown of our experience:

1. Seville: We indulged in some sightseeing and even took a fun cooking class!

2. Málaga: We spent a day strolling along the beach and enjoyed a lovely lunch before heading to Frigiliana.

3. Frigiliana: We stayed here for 2 nights, reversing the usual trend of staying in Nerja and visiting Frigiliana on a day trip.

4. Nerja: On our way to Almuñécar, we explored Nerja and had lunch there.

5. Almuñécar: This was a quieter stop with a beautiful beach right in front of our accommodation.

6. Granada: The city was bustling with tourists, but it had its unique charm that made it worth the visit.

7. Madrid: Contrary to what we heard, Madrid was full of interesting sights and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there before catching our flight home.

Travel Tips and Highlights

- Transportation: We rented a car from Málaga to Granada, which gave us the flexibility to explore at our own pace. For airport transfers, we used an incredibly convenient pickup service.

- Accommodation: We mixed it up between hotels and Airbnbs, depending on the location.

- Peach and Fanta: If you're visiting Europe in the summer, don’t miss out on the flat peaches and Spanish Fanta—they're delicious!
